Where we work
Begun in partnership with the Secoya nationality in three villages along the Aquarico River in northeastern Ecuador, the Indigenous Aquaculture Initiative has grown to involve participants in 26 communities distributed throughout Ecuador's Amazon region.
Participants and beneficiaries represent four indigenous nationalities—the Secoya, Achuar, Shuar, and Kichwa peoples—and are located in the provinces of Sucumbíos in the north (first map below), and Pastaza and Morona Santiago in the South (second map).
